It's Not March Madness Unless You're In A Pool

As part of the NCAA Tournament, the Sports Lounge has accepted a challenge from five other wonderful blogs to take part in a March Madness bracket for ultimate bragging rights, and more importantly, the chance for the winner to post anything they want on the other competitor’s sites. The challenge is hosted by the great blog, The Play in California, and they have already got things going by talking a little smack. There’s nothing out there that stirs the pot quite like a little trash talk, and it should make this wonderful three-week extravaganza even more exhilarating. Let’s just hope that my pick of Siena taking the title holds true (yeah, right). Here’s a look at the blogs that are taking part:

The Play in California: A humor blog that doesn’t hesitant to take shots on anybody, even me. (Man, that Shawne Merriman guy is pretty intimidating with those ‘roids.) He’s the muscle man behind the competition, and for that, I say cheers.

The Battle of California
: One of the few die-hard NHL blogs that still exists. Provides everything you could possibly want to know about the San Jose Sharks. This guy claims that he knows nothing of this college basketball we speak of, but I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if he had some tricks up his sleeve.

Gossip on Sports: A girl that certainly holds her own when it comes to sports talk, and a real dark horse to be writing on this blog once the Tournament ends. She’s an East-Coaster that brings a new feel to the West Coast dominated pool. Definitely not good for the ole RPI if she manages to take the five of us down.

Bears Neccessity: The most prominent blogger of the group, his Google Analytics ranking is so far in front of mine, its not even funny. A great blog that’s all things Cal Bears. This guy finds a way to blog about the Bears football team, even though their season ended months ago.

Apple & Moustaches: The new arrival to the proceedings, who brings as unique a name for a blog as I have ever seen. Also on the plus side, is the tremendous amount of eye candy that is displayed throughout the site.

Now that you know the names of the players, its time to get this show started.
